Business Income Tax Filing

Books review, tax computation and filing for business and professional income.

Business income is not filed on the salary form. Proprietors, professionals and partnership firms need a computation of profit, a check of whether presumptive taxation applies, and the correct ITR. Digital Filings prepares the return from your financials and files it on the income-tax portal.

Who this is for

  • Sole proprietors
  • Freelancers above the presumptive comfort zone
  • Partnership firms and professionals with books of account

Documents usually needed

  • PAN and Aadhaar of the taxpayer
  • Profit and loss account and balance sheet, or a summary of receipts and expenses
  • Form 26AS, AIS and TCS or TDS statements
  • GST turnover, if registered, so the figures talk to each other
  • Bank statements where books are incomplete

How Digital Filings handles it

  1. Share last year’s return and this year’s numbers.
  2. We choose the form and the tax regime with you.
  3. The return is filed and the acknowledgement is sent to you.

Timeline

A complete file is typically prepared in 2 to 5 working days. Due dates are notified each year — non-audit individual returns have often fallen on 31 July, but you must follow the date on incometax.gov.in.

Questions people ask

Do you also do the tax audit?

This filing service covers return preparation. If a tax audit under section 44AB applies, that is scoped and quoted separately.
