ITR-1 (Sahaj) is the simplest individual return. It suits a resident ordinary individual whose income is from salary or pension, one house property, and other sources such as interest, and whose total income is within the limit notified for that year. It is not for capital gains, foreign assets, business income, or a person who is a director in a company.
