Trade License Registration

Local permission to carry on a trade at a specific address.

A trade licence is issued by the municipal body so you can carry on a specified trade at an address. Some states instead, or also, require Shops and Establishments registration. The form, fee and inspection are local. We file in the municipal or labour portal that actually governs your shop and tell you the fee before it is paid.

Who this is for

  • Shops, offices, clinics and godowns opening in a municipal area
  • Businesses whose bank or GST officer asked for a trade licence

Documents usually needed

  • PAN and ID of the applicant
  • Address proof and rent deed or tax receipt
  • Layout or photograph of the premises where the city asks
  • NOC from the owner

How Digital Filings handles it

  1. Identify the correct municipal or labour portal.
  2. File with the declared activity.
  3. Track inspection, pay the government fee, and share the licence.

Timeline

From a few days to several weeks, depending on the city and whether an inspector visits.

Questions people ask

Is this GST registration?

No. A trade licence is local. GST is central and state indirect tax. Many businesses need both.
